Our management team has an expansive planning and development skill set. Key members of our management team, along with senior members of the project teams, have worked together for many years, providing stability and a cohesiveness that drives all the company’s initiatives.
Philip Wombwell MBA BSc(hons) - President & CEO, Board Member
Philip has banking experience through Barclays in the Middle East where he advised ultra high net worth clients, including one Abu Dhabi royal family office. He is an investment strategist and analyses investment opportunities that drive BSB Asia business divisions forward. Philip is an MBA graduate from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He has business experience across Europe, Middle East and Asia and has a successful track record of scaling businesses in different sectors. Philp is also a shareholder and board member of a telecom business in the Philippines.
Wilhelm “Bollie” Bolton - COO, Board Member
“Bollie” is well loved and a very well known character in the hotel & restaurant environment of the Philippines, living there for 28 years. Bollie was the pre-opening GM of Fontana Casino and Leisure Resort and also the VP of operations of the Days Hotel Philippines. He was the Opening GM of Balesin Island, a very well-known membership development. Bollie also rebuilt and pre- opened Huma after typhoon Yolanda which was the only 5-star Maldivian resort in Busuanga, Palawan Philippines. Bollie was also consultant for Banwa Island Resort and chief consultant for the Sultan of Brunei.
Gert Noordzij MBA - Director of Hospitality & Project Management
Gert specialises in hotel opening processes and organizational project management. He has over 20 years experience in Greater China and South East Asia and was involved in opening over 30 new hotels and 3 integrated resorts. For 15 years, Gert worked for 3 of the global top 5 hotel companies. Gert is also the author of the book “Project Management of Hotel Opening Processes”. Gert is currently spearheading R&D in the Asia hospitality sector for BSB Asia.
Chris Atkin - Chief Technology Officer
Chris is a seasoned Technology Professional. Chris delivers world leading intelligent IT solutions to developers and hotel operators, enabling them to leverage the technology to make businesses ‘cutting edge’ and generate new revenue streams, reduce costs and retain staff. Chris works in partnership with key stakeholders in the IT and AV industries, keeping up to date with significant and relevant technologies, and ensuring the effective deployment into the BSB Asia projects.
Reynaldo D Villar - Executive VP of Operations, Board Member
“Rey” is a seasoned Hotelier and Property Management Practitioner. He was former EVP for Federal Land of the late Taipan, George S.K. Ty of the Metrobank Group and handled the acquisition of the former Cebu Plaza Hotel which is now Marco Polo Cebu. He was also the EVP of SM Hotels and together with Elizabeth Sy launched the hotel business of SMDC and SM Investments which is now Radisson among others. Rey is very knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of hotel operations and brings a wealth of experience in major renovation, construction and development of hotels.
Sir Karl McClean - Board Director
Sir Karl McLean is a professional CEO having run many large corporations around the world including Digital Equipment Asia Pacific, Polaroid Asia Pacific, Hitachi Data Systems. In the Philippines Karl supplied Driving License systems to the government for many years along with awarded COMELEC s first AFIS Automated Fingerprint Identification System. Karl is also the founder of “Superbrands” in Philippines awarding top local companies for their sustainability standards. Sir Karl Mclean is also a Knight of the Knights Templar and a former President of Rotary Club of Makati North in Philippines.
Attorney Vic Cebellos - Board Director
Aside from practicing law, “Dean Vic” is a very popular figure in the Philippines and an active member of the academe. He is a professor of Law at the Ateneo and the current Dean of the Philippine Christian University. He was also a former independent director of a PSE Listed firm Berjaya. All this is on top of having his Bar Review outfit, Ceballos Bar Trends. Attorney Vic was the legal counsel of the famous Peninsula Hotel in Manila, alongside being the corporate secretary of the Philippine Hotel Owners Association.
Ma Rodora Banares - Board Director
A banker by profession for almost four decades, “Baby” was President of Bank of Makati and its Director from 2017 to 2021. Presently, she is an Independent Director of Fundline Finance Corp, Cebuana Lhullier Rural Bank. She is Managing Director of IOT Technology, Vines e-Trading Network Inc and IOT ACH Services Inc. She also sits as Director of Thor ICT (a rapidly expanding Philippine internet network provider). She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Peter Simmons - Board Advisor
Peter has worked for London based merchant and investment banks, holding senior positions for Flemings, Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust, Emirates Bank & Standard Bank (SA). His specialty is Asset Management and acquisitions where he has managed a very large number of real estate projects ranging from Hotel and Residential to Warehouse and Industrial. Peter was instrumental in structuring and managing a Middle East Real Estate Fund that grew to over 130 properties and asset values of circa US$958M.
Architect Miguel S Mañosa - Architectural Advisor
“Gelo” is known for his crusade for green buildings in the Philippines, Gelo Mañosa has travelled from Bali to Vienna in the course of his work. His father, Bobby, renowned Philippine National Artist for Architecture (Coconut Palace etc.) for putting to practice his dictum, “Filipino architecture for Filipinos,” left him a legacy that Gelo has used as a foundation on which he built his own design practice. He is now the CEO of Mañosa & Co.
Josef Gueta - Security Advisor
An Israeli Security Adviser, Due diligence, and Crisis Management practitioner. He is the Principal & Managing Director of Business Profiles Inc. Has more than 20 years of extensive business acumen on Business Crisis Management. He advises the Board on Security matters and design. Our mutual objective is to ensure a global standard on security matters which he is an expert. So much so that he is entrusted to handle security matters for a number of embassies in the Philippines. He is married to the Filipina designer Lulu Tan Gan.
John Eric Mendoza - Hotel Sales & Marketing Specialist
“Eric” has been in the Hospitality Industry Business for over 20 years and occupied various positions starting from Finance, Rooms Division, Sales & Marketing and Operations. His skill set in sales and marketing in the Philippines is his core competence and BSB will capitalize on that.
